Midnight Goddess

I am woman.

I stand in the pale moonlight.
Arms outstretched, I reach for the goddess
and pluck a silver beam of light from beneath her breast.

A tear falls down my cheek and shatters, a moonlit diamond falls
as the stars echo in the black depths of my nighttime eyes.

I am woman.

Darker than the blackest sky at night.
Deeper than the farthest reaches of space.
Pregnant with creation,
like the void before me waiting to spiral and unfold into life.

I am woman.

Child of innocence and trust.
Virgin blossoming with budding passion
Young woman, industrious and energetic.
Crone with wrinkled face belying the wisdom of the years .

I am woman.

Within me spin the cycles of Life itself.

I am timeless.
I am.
