A Hike on Equinox

A Hike on Equinox

Autumn kissed me
with a hint of chill, in days still warm.
Bidding fond farewell to Summer’s end.

Light and dark danced
in balance, holding hands,
In rare interplay as friends.

The fecund forest beckoned
As did the sirens of the stream,
“Leave behind the world you see,
Enter waking dream…”

Where clouds dissolve in light of love
warmth and cold embrace
Leaves flutter overhead, let go,
and dance in gentle grace.

Inhale the perfumed air!
The scent of soil in recent rain,
As water dances over stone
Creating sweet refrains…

…In a symphony of love

Summer fades, gives way to Autumn’s hand
Caught the relentless, endless breaths of God
I find the changeless,
in the changing land.
