Flames of the Mystery
Waves of love
cascade through every barricade
that I’ve erected,
every fortress
that’s protected
the gem inside of my heart.
Why does this start?
When will it end?
I fear cessation
of elation.
Oh Spirit
please don’t stop
the motion
that causes commotion
a whirl in my mind
a swirl deep inside
a fire that licks
and tickles
and laps
and burns away
till just perhaps
it finds the core of
molten love
inside my soul.
Fire inside
take me,
your bride
till passion’s flame
finds where the mystery abides.
