Today we wish to speak to you about the expectations you place upon yourselves. So very many of you dear lightworkers complicate your lives beyond belief. You impose artificial deadlines on yourselves. You expect yourselves to meet the worlds expectations of you. You feel you must live up to standards set by parents, spouses, society, religious ideologies, indeed even the media… And it is these expectations of self that drain the very life force out of you – for when you don’t meet your own deadlines, match others’ expectations, or live up to the standards you feel you must, you become incredibly hard upon yourselves. You beat yourselves up, push yourselves harder, or sometimes withdrawn from life in little depressions and lethargies.
Dear ones, God does not have any expectations of you except that you would be truthful with yourselves (and as a by-product of this, with others), that you would love and honor your hearts in each moment of every day, and that you would allow yourselves great freedom of heart and soul to dance with each moment, rather than to plan your lives so rigidly. As a result of doing this you will become more loving to others as well, truly and authentically. When the cup is full it spilleth over.
“But,” you ask us, “how will I ever get anything accomplished if I do not push myself, expect a lot from myself, meet my deadlines, etc?” Dear ones you would see if you lived in accordance with your heart of hearts there would be periods of adjustment, then eventually your lives would fall into a beautiful rhythm wherein you have all the time in the world to do what is truly important to you. You would pay your bills with less stress, you would earn a more honest living that supports your spirit as well as your pocketbooks, you would disappoint others at times, but you would feel energized and happy about yourselves. You would, indeed begin to experience a life of grace here upon this school called planet earth.
Try to be easy on yourselves. Make a list of all the expectations you have of yourselves, even the expectation that you must meet others expectations. Then, try to choose more consciously in each moment of your lives, actions and words that truly serve your spirit, rather than these expectations. Watch your life become far more grace-filled as you do so.
