Our world changed a few weeks ago. An image of the Pope in a white designer puffy coat went viral. The image was created for fun by a man who liked to play with an AI image generator. He got into the hobby after his brother died and used it to heal his grief. He liked to make funny pictures. He said he had no idea when he posted the image to a Facebook page that it would get so much exposure. Much of the world thought it was real, and many felt that the Vatican shouldn’t spend so much on fashion! They weren’t. The image wasn’t even a real photo.

The joke was harmless enough. The man who created it didn’t intend to hurt anyone. However, he unwittingly awakened the world to a glaring issue. The era of “deep fakes” is upon us.

Scammers have already used AI text-to-speech to clone the voice of a young man, call his parents and con them out of money. This behavior isn’t new. We have all learned to deal with phishing emails, fake calls, and “free downloads” with viruses attached. False information has been available for a long time. Anyone can fake nearly anything these days. It has just become a lot easier.

It would be easy to become alarmed at the new trends, but as the angels say, even technology is subject to the law of attraction. Since I’ve been guided to learn, play with, and contribute to the brighter side of it, I’ve been having a blast. It has allowed me to release a very loving children’s story and connect with so many of you over this in ways I barely dreamed of. (To all of you who have shared your hearts with me and pictures of the little angels with their books, thank you. I’m blown away and touched by your beautiful kindness!).

I’ve been testing vibrational law with AI art generation. The more I love it, the more inspiration I receive for prompts that give me beautiful imagery. No matter what tool I use, the more I love it, the more it loves me back!

I’m not worried about AI taking over humanity and killing us off, as some people are. I’m more concerned – as the leaders in the field are – about the people who will try to use it for malice. Then again, they’ll find a way no matter what tools we give them.

So while the world is changing quickly, we have nothing to fear if we trust ourselves. You’ll always elicit the lighter side from the world around you when you’re in a loving vibration. You’ll have the discernment to know truth from fiction, good-for-you from not-good-for-you. You’ll be able to enjoy life, contribute, and lift others, simply because you create such a happy field they want to join you. That’s my only intent here – to be as light-filled as possible and offer a space of joy or at least comfort in which you can dance as well.

I’ll still laugh at crazy images of “Darth Vader cooking a cheeseburger in the food network kitchen” or “Star Wars stormtroopers mowing a Midwestern lawn.” When I inevitably run across an image intended to mislead, I’ll trust my gut over my eyes. You can too 🙂

Here are a few tips to help you trust yourself more:

1. Practice listening to your feelings

So many times over the years, people with good intentions have shared “facts” with me. When these “facts” feel more like fiction, I do my homework and fact-check. So often, I’m glad I did. Rumors and misinformation spread quickly.

Likewise, there are always scammers out there. When I get a phone message to “call this number, or I’ll be sued,” I delete it. When I get an email that feels suspicious, I check the address it is from and forward it to the appropriate organization or the FTC. I am fairly no-nonsense these days about trusting my feelings.

I have one client who trusted herself brilliantly and avoided a huge scam. A classic dating con artist hit on her. A man “who worked on an oil rig” came on to her like Romeo himself. He was madly “in love,” He spoke like Prince Charming until he started making excuses for why they couldn’t meet, why he needed her to send money, etc. Luckily she trusted her feelings and decided to play with him. She acted like the best supporting actress in a bad romance and started asking him for money! Needless to say, “he” (or rather the crime ring) disappeared! Later she used the story to get a job that required cleverness! Her play in the high vibe worked in her favor despite a lower vibe scammer!

So when you see or hear something that feels odd, pay attention to how you feel. Does your stomach tighten? Does something feel “off?” Your body has antennae for sensing energy; even if you can’t trust everything you see and hear, you can trust your gut.

2. Notice & Congratulate yourself when you sense something accurately

How often have you said, “I knew it!” When you notice that you did accurately assess something, go back and look at it. How did you feel? How did you know? Pay attention to what you felt so you can recognize things you can trust in the future. Practice makes you closer to perfect.

Make sure you pay attention to and congratulate yourself for the times when you know what you know!

3. Don’t beat yourself up if you believed something false – Just learn

We’ve all fallen prey to falsehoods in the past. We can usually look back and see if we had feelings or red flags that would have warned us. When you notice this, don’t beat yourself up. Just learn from it. Resolve to pay attention to your feelings next time.

There will always be those who use the tools we have for good and those who use them for bad. There will always be new ways to create wonder, and new ways to lie. The tools are neither good nor bad. What dictates how they affect us is always our vibration. I feel good about that. We are not at the mercy of scammers, robots, or anything else. We are, instead, connected to the loving power that creates worlds.
