I had to trim back a very beautiful but invasive vine in my yard last week.It was starting to choke off the other plants in its zeal for real estate and water. I loved it, but it was clearly time to prune. This particular vine wasn’t so easy to cut back. It had embedded deep roots in my block wall and pulling it off was near impossible, without trimming each cluster attached to the wall. It was so entangled with the nearby roses and trees, that I had to trim one stem at a time and pull it out like I was pulling a thread in a sweater. It wasn’t a quick job! I started to feel frustrated – I had many other things to accomplish that day.
As always when something starts to feel unpleasant, I stop and reattune my energy to love. I sat down, smelled the grass, felt the breeze, listened to the bird symphony, appreciated the roses, and allowed my energy relax then expand out into the beautiful nature around me. I quieted my mind and asked to see through the eyes of love. I asked to understand why I’d been guided to do this myself when I could have hired people and ached less.
As I slipped into relaxation I started to see the whole picture through the eyes of love. My body may have ached but it was a good ache that came from moving it after too much sitting at the desk. The vine was a tenacious challenge, but with each disentanglement, I could feel the rose bush and nearby tree breathing easier. It was lovely to be outside for a change. I’ve missed it. I went back to work focusing on how healthy the plants that were getting choked off would be and how much I appreciated the beauty of the flowering vine. I sank into the timeless present and felt at one with the vibrantly alive vibrations all around. It was a lovely afternoon.
In the midst of the work, a thought popped into my head. Years ago I’d asked the angels how to stay in my own vibe instead of allowing my attention to be distracted by the tugs and pulls of the world. They gave me an exercise through trance medium Summer Bacon (an incredible channel!) to imagine scanning my energy field and “pruning” off any branches that had attached to it! I had forgotten this so I started it up again. It is a great way to disconnect from the things you don’t really want to be attached to. Right now with so many energies vying for our attention, that is very useful!
I see the horrors in the world. We all have access to things in real-time that were once only seen by a few. When a woman halfway across the world is raped, we hear her horrific story within hours. When a person is killed we hear their family’s pain. We see once-thriving cities razed into grey heaps of rubble. But how can we help other than donating and praying? The angels have the answer. We can keep ourselves as much as possible in the vibrations we wish to support. We can see the atrocities and immediately focus on a better future. We can donate or help as guided.
I had a random thought the other day. What if wildflowers were to sprout up in war-torn areas in the shape of peace signs, hearts, crosses, or other symbols of love? What if they suddenly appeared in the front yards of those perpetuating hate? Can you imagine such beautiful signs of love growing all over the planet… maybe fields so large you could see them from space? Wouldn’t that make a peaceful impact – a sign of hope, a sign that God is with us, that love always wins, and that even the ugliest humanity has to offer can be overgrown with the beauty and grace of God? I am imagining this every day and when I see it someday come to pass, I’ll know I made a small contribution to a kinder world.
With every loving thought, you do too.
Here are a few tips to help you keep in a loving space, even when it’s hard:
1. Practice the vibration of appreciation
Learn to practice appreciation on a daily basis. Right now look around and see how much you can appreciate in your own environment. What can you appreciate about yourself? Consciously choose to practice the vibration of appreciation as often as possible. It is one of the quickest ways to tune into love and elevate your own vibration. You deserve to feel this good.
2. Value your own happiness and well-being
While it would seem crazy not to want to be happy, we all choose to focus on things that make us unhappy. When we focus on things or people that drag us down, we are not valuing our own happiness. When we focus on anything that feels better, we are valuing our own feelings.
You might have an incredibly insensitive boss, but I bet you have some kind co-workers, clients, or friends. It is likely if you look hard enough you may find one good trait in that bothersome boss that you can focus on. Do it for your own sake, not theirs. Choose thoughts and focus that feel better. Your happiness matters whether or not someone or life hands it to you on a silver platter.
3. Acknowledge your own goodness
Start loving close to home by acknowledging your own goodness. Instead of criticizing yourself, choose to acknowledge yourself for the smallest kind act, the tiniest good thought, the most seemingly insignificant good deed. As you acknowledge your own goodness, you elevate your vibration and can more easily acknowledge the goodness in others, no matter how difficult they might be.
The world is shaken and stirring once again, but we need not be buffeted by the intense and chaotic global vibes. With a commitment to practice tuning into love we can keep ourselves above it, and in a flow of grace, goodness, and guidance. In so doing we are a gift to humanity, allowing love to flow to us and through us into a world in need.
