Happy Near Year! Happy New Decade! I pray we take the sense of kindness, compassion, tolerance, and generosity that seems to flow so freely during the holidays into every single day of the year, for in that space, joy, peace, and love flow freely as well.

I had a wonderful week off filled with good food, laughter, friends, family, warmth, and kindness. I cleaned out the closets, got organized, and rested. I spent delicious hours enjoying happy holiday films in my pajamas, while sipping hot cocoa and eating my yearly allocation of cookies!

Most importantly I spent time pure silence, connecting with the Divine within, reviewing my year through eyes of God’ and my angels, and looking at how I wish to grow and change in the year ahead. I don’t make resolutions. I chose instead to be more present, and more authentic in every moment of my life. It is an ongoing and unfolding journey!

I realized as I took an honest look at myself that, in some situations in my life, I’ve slipped into becoming more of what the world expects of me, than who I wish to be. There are constant expectations placed on those of us in public. There are constant tugs and pulls. Spiritual teachers and those who channel Divine energy, are supposed to act a certain way, talk a certain way, and show up a certain way.

In the days of introspection I remembered that living up to the expectations of the world is not my purpose. I am here instead to be what God made me to be. I am here to be a bridge between heaven and earth and to live a life of joy that is, by demonstration, a testament to the fact that there is no separation between human and divine.

In sharing all that I am – human and divine – I hope to inspire you to see the the face of God within every facet of your own life and personality. After all, each one of us is a unique “recipe of divinity” made up of a very special blend of ingredients! I can be a mix of Martha Stewart, Jimmy Stewart in “It’s a wonderful life,” and a good steward of God’s love all at once. I have both a sacrilegious sense of humor and the constant awareness of the Sacred in all things and all beings. I have strong opinions while at the same time allowing others their own. I often tune out the world in order to tune in more deeply to my essential self, and I respect others’ right to tune into whatever they choose.

I resonate with many, offend some, and don’t care to shift who I am as a result of either praise or criticism. I know what lives within me. As a result I know and respect the same light that lives with you.

In allowing myself to be myself, I have learned to allow others to be who they are, and to simply discern who and what belongs in my life.

We are all precious flowers in the garden of life. It is in our differences and our uniqueness that life becomes rich, abundant, and beautiful. There is no one model of “holiness” or “perfection” but rather each of us, in our delicious diversity, is a perfect embodiment of the Divine – exactly as we are.

So in 2020 I pray that each one of you come to realize you are perfect Divine light, exactly as you are. I pray that in your joy and your sadness, you know you are nothing less than the power that creates universes, simply having an experience. I pray that you come to love yourself simply because you’re you, rather than basing your worth on the world’s capricious and superficial standards.

I pray that your opinion about yourself will matter more to you than the opinions of anyone else. And I pray, that collectively we can learn to live and let live, as we grow into a deeper awareness of the value of each one of us, exactly as we are, within this One moving living, breathing, expanding field of Divine Energy.

Happy 2020 dear shining lights! I’m so grateful to each one of you for journeying on this beautiful path with me. Life may have its ups and downs, but seen through the eyes of love and perfection, it suddenly becomes simply a collection of experiences that propel us – individually and collectively – to see and be the love that we really are.

Here are a few pointers to help you see and feel the Divine within, with “2020” vision this year…

1. Start and end each day with gratitude for yourself

Upon awakening and before bed think of at least 3-5 things you love about yourself. These can be qualities, characteristics, things that you’ve done well, or at least tried. They can be kindnesses you’ve shown, and even failed attempts to love – because even trying is something to be proud of.  And if you’re up for a bonus, set random reminders on your phone to acknowledge yourself and your loving heart throughout the day!

2. Replace self-criticism with self love

Rather than tearing yourself down, build yourself up. Every time you criticize or put yourself down, give yourself 3 compliments.  It might seem difficult at first but you can shift this outdated, spiritually crazy, habit that most of us were raised with.

3. Make Every Act an Expression of love

Love your dishes when you wash them. Fold your towels with love. Speak to your planets, pets, and people with love, even if with loving firmness. Be kind to yourself when you look in the mirror. Thank your soap, your shower, your food, and bless the hands that built them, made them, and delivered them into your life. There is only one love and when you love anyone or anything you are connecting with Divinity.

Luxuriate in all the simple pleasures in life, the grand joys and the random acts of kindness. Bless the mess and get on with the rest. Let this year, be a year of being clear… that we are no less Divine than the moment at which we were formed in the heart of God, and that we are the living, breathing, embodiments of Gods love here in human form.

Even a few minutes of such awareness a day can bring you into deeper sense of connection with the Divine, calibrate you to peace, and change your perspective to see others through the eyes of God.

May 2020 be a year of love, joy and plenty – as we commit more deeply to seeing more clearly and being more dearly, the Divinity within!
