The underlying order in life continues to astonish me in all ways great and small.
Just today I had to run so many errands I didn’t know how it was all going to work out, but in the middle of answering emails I suddenly felt like going to the grocery store, so I did. I missed my turnoff while talking to God, so I flipped a U-turn, went back and parked.
I got blocked down one aisle by some folks talking so I took a turn down a different aisle where I ran into something I’d forgotten to put on my list. Finalizing my shopping I ran right into a dear client whose son in spirit constantly arranges for us to meet in odd places – groceries, hardware stores, you name it. She loves the validation. I love the dance with heaven. Had I not left the house when I did, missed the turn, and wandered down the other aisle I would have missed her. The coordination in heave is amazing!
Guidance isn’t always a voice in your head. Sometimes it is a subtle urge, or simply life itself steering you down a certain path. Sometimes it makes sense in the moment, sometimes not, but always a larger picture is emerging.
About a month ago I went hiking deep into my favorite canyon with a friend. I checked the weather carefully since Arizona storms are both awe inspiring and frightening. Clear skies were predicted and all felt well, so we took off early and took our sweet time meandering along the stream.
About five miles into the canyon, hip deep in Elsyian pools we started hearing the rumbling of thunder up ahead. We’re both intuitive. We checked in and felt we could hike a little farther. At one point, just before a particularly slippery part, we stopped and checked in again. We both got a clear signal that we’d be fine, but it was time to turn around and hike back.
Just as we were talking about our change in plans, we looked up to see the most gloriously beautiful sight up ahead. In the narrow canyon white curtains of torrential rain were sweeping down the mountain side and through the slot canyon, pounding a dancing drumbeat on the previous emerald pool, which had now darkened to deep green. We sat there, arms outstretched as the rain raced our way. We were drenched within seconds!
It was truly time to turn around and hike back! I have to admit I had a little bit of fear, although guidance said we’d be OK. I was in a flash flood once before and the memory tugged at me so I hiked quickly, but nonetheless the beauty could have brought me to my knees.
Sloshing through the creek, hearing the incessantly pounding rain, smelling the freshness of the land, dodging frogs who were in their own personal version of heaven, I will never forget the majesty of that moment. My friend and I had just a few hours earlier been talking about the massive cleansing that we were going through in our psyches, and how we both felt washed clean. Now, literally, we were being washed clean! We emerged from our uncharted territory back to the trail just as the sun emerged victorious from behind the clouds… a beautiful metaphor for each or our lives.
I thought that was it, but it ends up this well-timed rain offered me yet one more gift. I was in my home doing chores a week later when that feeling of heaven overtook me. I sat down, shut my eyes and was catapulted into a vision of what I will experience someday after I die… Or rather, I traveled outside of space and time and experienced that future moment, in the present…
In spirit I was walking in the emerald pools in the canyon, but instead of rain running down the mountain side, sheets of white light surrounded me. The light came in towards me, sweeping down the canyon walls, dissolving everything it touched into light. Majestic music echoed through the light. It engulfed me and poured through me. As I walked forward, the light and the sound closed in from every side until I melted into it in an ecstatic, blissful union in its embrace. I was one with it – flooded with love, merged with love, only love… I knew my Self as the Presence that lives in all things and all being… including Ann.
I don’t remember much after that except that I came back to my current space and time, humbled, awed, bawling, and touched to my core by this journey to the boundaries of heaven and back.
You never know why you feel inspired to do something. You may never know why you feel inspired to change. But when you get the urge, the inner movement and inclination to do something, say something, be somewhere, etc… listen. This is the silent, energetic Voice of God within you and the whisperings of the angels urging you into the miraculous.
Even though I do readings, and give predictions every day, they are based on where you’re headed. Far better to decide where you want to go and to listen to the guidance in each moment as you are gently steered on the path of your dreams.
I hope you feel the heaven I felt as you read my words…
Here are some pointers to help you better recognize your own guidance..
1. Acknowledge “What” you want, even if you don’t know “How”
Say you’re at work and suddenly you start thinking of the beach. This is your soul saying you need a trip to the beach. Maybe you can’t afford it. That’s OK. You don’t need to know “how,” only “what.”
Tell God and your angels, “Yes please, I’d like that trip.” Release the need to know how it will happen. I have been asking for more experiences of heaven… the hike and the subsequent vision were an answer to that – one I could not have ever orchestrated on my own!
The minute you acknowledge the desire, the universe is working on it.See what shows up as you are guided in the months or days ahead to have your vacation.
2. When you get a loving urge, listen & act on it
If you get the urge to do something, say something, be somewhere and you can… act upon it… now! If you can’t do it now, acknowledge it as in step 1. If you can jump into action before you miss the moment. Guidance is all about now.
Acknowledge it now, or do it now, based on your situation and what is feasible in the moment. In the story above, had I not listened to my guidance I would have missed running into my dear client and enjoying our dance with her dear one in heaven.
3. Stay open even if you don’t see evidence
At times you may feel like you’re prayers aren’t being heard because you don’t get guidance to do a thing. No guidance means, quite literally, “Relax. The Universe is working on it. We’ll let you know what to do when it is time.”
You can’t push the river, so to speak. However, you can enjoy your day and know that when it is time to act, you will have the strong urge and repetitive signs to do so.
I like to joke that the angels nag when they are giving guidance. The thought won’t go away. There will be signs all over the place. People will tell you about what you were just thinking.
When it is time to move the universe will keep talking until it gets your attention!
There is a beautiful postscript to my story. After my vision of going into the canyon and dissolving into the light of heaven, a dear client who is creating her own miracles came to visit.
She suddenly had the urge to pain angel wings. Shetold me that she knew one particular painting was for me… As I unwrapped the gift, I saw not just wings, but the canyon walls, the green of the forest, and the light of heaven converging in that space. Heat and heavenly energy flowed off the pinating and I immediately felt the energy of my vision flood me once again. I burst into tears, overwhelmed by the love coming through her channeled work. She was intensely validated that she was receiving angelic energies…
Once again, the great universal dance of love was taking its next step in my life and my dear client’s life… It does in yours too 🙂
Love you all!
