The question of why bad things happen to good people has been one I’ve asked, both globally and personally. It has taken me years of practicing vibrational choice—one better thought at a time, to truly see the cause and effect of the energy we emit. I’ve been privileged to see clients with unthinkably challenging life plans who shift to a grace-filled and beautiful reality. Some of them incarnated into abusive families, hoping to awaken them with love, only to find that the individuals on earth were entrenched in their own pain and not reachable. The light in these loving souls is strong, and so many, over the years, found the courage to love themselves and to let go of those who could not.
Even now, I have amazing, light-filled clients who were in the bombings and managed to escape due to their high vibration and awareness of their guidance. A dear one on this list (you know who you are) told me that nine days after the Turkish earthquake this year, the rescue teams were pulling little kids out of the rubble who were in perfect shape despite not having food and water the whole time. The children, who had gone through what we’d all call a “very bad thing,” talked about the “beautiful ladies” who played with them (angels!) while buried alive. These children gave hope and brought light to a grieving nation.
I’ve seen people who were fatally ill recover as they learned to forgive and focus more on their own joy, and I’ve seen people die because the old patterns of focus were too hard to release. One dear woman I knew 20 years ago comes to mind. Even with a fatal disease, she could not stop taking care of others and wore herself out till the end. She stands by her choices in heaven! She knows that she chose this, and to her, it was OK.
I spend my life trying to add light to this world, yet I’ve been attacked by people I’ve gone above and beyond to help. In my earlier days, I felt thoroughly victimized. “I’m just a punching bag,” I’d whine. Then, the angels had me take a step back and look at my vibration to see cause and effect in the energy world. I had always felt bad when I couldn’t help someone or give them what they wanted. Of course, outer life mirrored that back. I attracted people who beat me up when I could not please them.”
I’m lucky to be alive. Many serious things have happened in traffic, but due to my vibration, I was cautioned, guided, and lived. While driving north to teach an angel class last year, a drop cloth blew off the truck ahead of me and covered the windshield of my car, which was filled with supplies and my friends/helpers. We had been in such a loving, laughing, high vibe that I was calm enough to let the angels guide my hands and steer through a lane of traffic to get off the freeway while only being able to see out a side window. I got out of the car, gathered up the drop cloth, and on we went to have a glorious day. A very bad thing could have happened to some good people that day. Our vibe helped us dance around it.
It will never be easy to watch the pain and suffering in the world. I consciously steer my thoughts to focus on something better because I don’t want to lose my soul’s light to those seeking to engender darkness, fear, anger, and. hatred. I don’t want to give in to the lost who want company in their darkness and think it is OK to hurt others. To the best of my ability, I want to remain a pure and strong light to provide balance, love, guidance, and support to all I can.
As good people learn to embrace consistent good vibrations for themselves and others, they’ll experience more good.
Here are some pointers to help you feel love when you see bad things happening to good people.
1. Remind yourself you have a choice in any given moment
Right now, you can focus on the pain in the world or the love in your heart. If you focus on the pain and 3D unfairness, you will hurt. If you focus on the love in your heart, you will help and heal. So when you see something horrible, stop. Breathe. Pray for the souls involved and resolve to be in your light even more strongly. Look for the eternal all around — the sky, the trees, the bees, the flowers. Breathe in and feel appreciation for the air you inhale. Refocus again, and again if you have to, a thousand times a day until you become practiced at focusing on what feels better.
We can’t control anyone else’s vibrational field, but we can shift our own, become more light-filled, and be part of the solution.
2. Stop wasting time on “shoulds”
Right now in Iceland an entire village of 3000 people was peacefully evacuated when scientists discovered that volcanic magma was rumbling directly under the town. These amazing people didn’t spend much time thinking about what “should” or “shouldn’t” be. They gathered up important stuff, helped their neighbors, cooperated with authorities, and got out in a peaceful manner. If the volcano blows, they’ll all be alive. If they had fought this mandate, arguing about whether or not they should evacuate when they did, bad things might have happened to a lot of very good people. We could spend a lifetime thinking about what “should” and “shouldn’t” be. We may be right, but that doesn’t change a thing. Better to acknowledge your feelings and ask the Divine, “What can I do next?” “How can I be part of the solution I wish to see?”
These days, when people ask how they can help end the atrocities of war, the angels quietly and compassionately remind us to stop warring with life, stop bombing ourselves with criticism, and stop trying to kill off other’s ideas.
The end of what “should not be” starts inside each one of us.
3. Refocus
Sometimes, external conditions trigger old, dormant internal pain. If watching the world leaves you unable to function, either stop watching, refocus on something better, get help, or help others.
The more we love, whether through appreciation, giving, praying, or just doing something we enjoy, the more effective we become.
Bad things do happen to good people. Sometimes, they choose an ambitious life path. Sometimes, they quietly simmer or stuff their feelings. Sometimes, they pretend to be up when down. I’ve done all the above!! It has taken years, but through experience, I have come to know and understand the vibrational dance. It is empowering when you can practice enough to get your own proof.
May all people choose good thoughts, good vibes, and therefore create good realities.
