My favorite adventures in Sedona involve the many beautiful and scenic hikes that the area has to offer.
However, if you like tours, there are more than you could ever count… jeep tours, helicopter tours, horseback tours, hiking tours, you name it! There are spa treatments, nearby river rafting, and rail road rides. Since I have yet to tap into the variety of activities offered, visit my Sedona Visitor Info pages for sites that have a more comprehensive listing of adventures! Here are a few I’ve experienced… and loved!
Red Rock Helicopter Tours – A friend gifted me with a helicopter tour one year and I was thrilled! After two decades of hiking I couldn’t believe I was going to get the “bird’s eye” view of Sedona. I took the “Ancient’s Way” flight and got to see all the beautiful canyons that I’d hiked from the air. I was lucky enough to fly in early January when there was a light dusting of snow on the red rocks. I would easily do this again if given the chance! So much fun!
Sedona Jeep and Hummer Tours – If you want to see the back country in Sedona and don’t want to abuse your car, Sedona Jeep and Hummer Tours are a load of fun! Knowledgeable drivers fill you in on the history, geology, flora and fauna of the area while you drive. Scenic stops allow time for pictures, and you can select anything from a tame scenic drive to a real cliff hanger.
For a friend’s birthday we took the “Hummer Colorado Plateau” tour which offered breathtaking views and a moderately bumpy ride… just enough to be fun!
