Today is St. Nicholas day. Saint Nicholas, a fourth century bishop of the city of Myra in what is now Turkey. He was known for his great kindness and his generous aid to those in distress. Traditional celebrations of Saint Nicholas Day in Northern Europe included gifts left in children's shoes. Today, leave a little treat for someone - a cup of coffe for a co-worker, a note of appreciation for your spouse, a few special candies in someone's shoe... |
