The Gift of Life

Light of day breaks forth
With gentle tender touch upon the land
Each day brings to glorious reality
The kiss of Sun’s touch, God’s hand

and light caresses the earth.

Each night a death
Each morn a birth
To courting sorrow
Or embracing mirth.

A gift of life
Each time the sun will rise
A gift of birth
Each time we open eyes

Embrace each passing hour,
Tend to sweet and fragile time.
Who knows how long each flower
Graces life upon the vine.

Embrace the light of sun
As she peeks o’er horizon east
This life, this love, a banquet for the soul
Delight the senses,
Join the feast.
